Launched in 1999, ‘Navigator’ is a programme which has been researched and specifically designed for the personal development of men – the first of its kind in the UK!
The programme is ‘good fun’ and offers men, together, the opportunity to ‘take stock’ of their lives – realistically; both at home and in the world of work by sharing experiences, identifying and achieving goals – allowing men to more ‘own their own lives’.
Goals are achieved by the development of skills, self-confidence, the will and determination to succeed.
For an employer, the programme helps maintain motivation and positive thinking, with the participants working towards realising their potential, and ‘owning’ change rather than being ‘told’ by the organisation – a critical quality for today’s workplace!
Navigator is a great programme for men from any background and at any age or stage of their life who want to think about their lives and perhaps take some steps to change some aspects of it.
The programme is four days, usually one day per month (thereby enabling the participants to make progress between the workshops), the ‘ingredients’ are:
- Four one day workshops
- 300+ page workbook
- Coaching partnerships
- Inspiring role models
- Networking
- Examples
The key themes from which results are achieved are:
- Who am I – identity and a realistic self-assessment
- Being really clear about values and what is important
- Knowing what is expected by other people (work and home)
- A simple but brilliant way to establish achievable goals
- Responses to and creating change
- Communicating assertively
- Living a positive life
- Managing relationships – positively
- A healthy way to live
